RECEIPT NOTICE DELAYS

USCIS Receipt Notice Delays: What You Need to Know

In a recent announcement on X (formally known as Twitter), USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) revealed that due to “an increase in applications” receipt notices for immigration filings may take longer than usual to be processed.

USCIS warns that receipt notice delays could result in a wait of 10 to 14 days before applicants receive acknowledgment of their submissions. We have also experienced receipt notice delays of 3 weeks or more for certain types of filings.

Receipt notice delays and the Form I-9

These delays may cause issues to foreign nationals who need these receipts to prove that they have timely filed for renewals and are eligible for an automatic extension of expiring/ expired documents.

Foreign nationals who find themselves facing potential breaks in employment due to the inability to produce these documents to satisfy the Form I-9 Employment Eligibility System rules, should contact their Maggio Kattar attorney to discuss alternatives.
