USCIS to Conduct Second Random Selection for FY 2025 H-1B Cap

On July 30, 2024, USCIS announced it will conduct a second random selection for the FY 2025 H-1B cap. This process follows the initial selection in March 2024, which included registrations for beneficiaries eligible for the advanced degree exemption.

The second selection aims to fill additional spots in the FY 2025 regular cap. Selected petitioners will be notified and can file H-1B cap-subject petitions based on the selection notice provided.

The second round will not include additional selections for the advanced degree exemption, as sufficient petitions have already been received. USCIS will update selected registrants’ online accounts with details for filing.
