USCIS To Resume Premium Processing Service for all H-1B Petitions
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has informed American Immigration Lawyers Association that it will resume premium processing for all types of H-1B petitions October 3, 2017. On September 18, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services already resumed premium processing for H-1B Cap cases.
UPDATE: October 3, 2017, USCIS officially announced that premium processing has resumed premium processing services for all types of H-1B petitions.
What is “Premium Processing”?
Processing times for H-1B petitions can be in excess of 5-7 months. Employers have the option pay an additional fee ( $1,225) to expedite through the Premium Processing Service. USCIS guarantees 15 calendar day processing when a petition is submitted through the Premium Processing Service. This guarantee does not always mean that the case will be processed within 15 days, but if it is not, the additional fee will be refunded and the case will continue to receive expedited processing.
