U.S. Limits Travellers from China
In response to the coronavirus outbreak in China, on January 31, 2020 the Trump Administration issued a proclamation suspending and limiting the entry of all aliens (immigrant and non-immigrant visa holders) who were physically present in China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau) during the 14-days preceding their entry or attempted reentry. This ban does not apply to U.S. lawful permanent residents (LPR), spouses of U.S. citizens or LPRs, children and siblings (unmarried, under 21) of U.S. citizens or LPRs, crewmembers, diplomatic and international organization/NATO visa holders, and aliens entering the U.S. to support national security or virus containment.
The Administration will re-evaluate the ban every 15 days until suspensions can be lifted.
CBP and the CDC is continuing to conduct enhanced screening at 5 U.S. airports and enhancing illness response capacity at 20 ports of entry.
