U.S. Department of State Suspends the Processing of Most Visas

The U.S. Department of State announced that it will suspend the processing of most visa applications at U.S. consulates worldwide.

This move will impact nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applicants, but the announcement did make exceptions for “emergency” and “mission critical” cases. Visa applicants who must secure a visa to travel to the U.S. for urgent matters are asked to contact the relevant U.S. consulate’s website for further instructions. We would recommend working with immigration counsel for such urgent requests in order to ensure that all appropriate supporting documentation will be presented in the appointment request.
