FY2018 Lottery Selection Complete

USCIS announced on April 17, 2017, that it has completed entering the required information for the H-1B cap-subject petitions that were selected in this year’s lottery.  USCIS received a total of 199,000 for FY 2018 as opposed to 236,000 peitions for FY 2017,  a reduction of 37,000 petitions which improves petitioner’s odd of selection but is still well above the 65,000 general-category cap and the 20,000 cap under the advanced degree exemption for H-1B visas. Premium processing continues to be suspended for cap -exempt H-1B petitions.
