Developments Regarding Visa Appointments and Work Permit Renewals for Healthcare Workers

USCIS announced today that, effectively immediately, USCIS will expedite pending Form I-765 Employment Authorization Document (“EAD”) renewal requests for eligible health care workers whose EADs have expired or will expire within 30 days. USCIS provided the list of who would be eligible at pages 7 to 9. In addition, the U.S. Department of State announced late last week that it will allow U.S. consulates to implement visa appointment waiver procedures or to expand existing programs. Please note that it may take several weeks before any changes are implemented and announced. Potentially impacted visa applicants should check the websites of the relevant U.S. consulate(s) to determine eligibility. If you have any questions regarding eligibility, please reach out to your Maggio Kattar contact.
