CDC Requires All Travelers To The U.S. To Provide COVID Negative Result Or Evidence Of Recovery From COVID

Effective January 26, 2021, all travelers to the U.S. over the age of 2 years, including U.S. Citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents, must be tested for the COVID-19 virus within three days of traveling to this country.  This new order was issued by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) on January 12, 2021.

The CDC states that, for those individuals who have tested positive for the virus within the past three months and who have completed the period of isolation, it is possible to travel to the U.S. by obtaining a letter from your healthcare provider or public health official, clearing you for travel.  All other travelers to the U.S. must present a COVID negative test result that was obtained within 3 days of their trips.

This new order does not replace the existing presidential proclamations that restrict travel to the U.S. directly from the Brazil, China, Iran, Ireland, or the Schengen region.
