Carlin Padraic Moore began practicing law in 2011 and joined Maggio Kattar in 2019. Carlin has successfully represented individuals in a variety of immigration matters including family-based petitions, adjustment of status, U Visas, naturalization, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), waivers, asylum, removal proceedings, and giving Know Your Rights presentations. Carlin also has experience in divorce, custody, protective orders, guardianship, and some criminal cases in the state of Maryland.
Carlin became passionate about helping immigrants and their families since his own family immigrated to the United States from the Bahamas. Carlin earned his Juris Doctorate from the American University, Washington College of Law and studied abroad in Israel and Palestine. He also obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law with a focus on International Human Rights Law. He began his career at the Department of Justice, Office of Immigration Litigation as a paralegal specialist, and then working for a non-profit in the Washington, DC metro area as an immigration attorney. He is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), and currently serving on the AILA DC Chapter Committee for New Members. Carlin is very easy to talk to, and really listens to his clients. He is patient with them and tries to educate his clients so that they have a better understanding of their case and allow them to feel more comfortable with the process.
